Luck? Fair?

I’ve been pretty lucky my whole life – not lucky like I win raffle prizes, but lucky in a bigger way. Lucky that I was born in the United States, lucky that I was born into my family, lucky that I’ve always been fairly bright / athletic / healthy / cute / etc. Things that I bet most people take for granted.

Sometimes it feels like my luck has run out a little bit. I don’t want to be Debbie Downer, as I am still very lucky in many aspects. But perhaps it is not a luck issue – it is more of a fairness issue. Life hasn’t been all that fair to Boomboom and I recently. I am a crier in general, but have shed more tears in the past few months than I have in the past two / three years combined. Not fun. <sigh>

  2. Tinger D,

Sometimes life throws things at us that are unexpected and seem unfair. It’s normal for both of us to have moments when we are sad and bitter about things that don’t turn out the way that we would hope. At the same time I think we have had moments where we have really reflected on how great our family and friends are and how strong we are as a couple. All we can do is try our best to put this behind us and remain positive that things will work out for the best in the long run. When I get down about this stuff I remember how happy and relieved that I felt when I knew that you were going to be ok. ILYH and know that when this turns for the better we will appreciate it all the more.
