After Boom got home, we rented 3:10 to Yuma, with Christian Bale. He looked pretty good, for a scraggly farmer. But his character in the movie was kinda dumb. He made a lot of mistakes and in the end, a lot of people died for nothing. Wasn’t our favorite movie, but there wasn’t much in the way of selection at Blockbuster. and it cost nearly $6 to rent this one, measly movie! We are thinking of doing Netfix like other smart people.

  1. you should’ve watched the Oscars! looks like we missed some good ones like La Vie en Rose and The Savages. I also want to see The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Elizabeth and Across the Universe.

  2. We watched 3:10 to Yuma prior to the Acadamy Awards, which I have never liked and was once again unimpressed with. I always feel so bad for the hosts. Everyone in the crowd, particularly those up front, is so nervous that they won’t laugh at anything no matter how funny it is. The hosts usually try a few decent jokes and get the deadpan and they aren’t equipped to handle it mentally. These guys are used to getting people to laugh at them and when they can’t they turn into pathetic loosers and get nervous and uptight themselves.

Anyhow, 3:10 to Yuma was a dissapointment. Christain Bale’s character was a moron and ended up getting himself whacked in the end. He did just about everything wrong that he could throughout the movie and I hate movies where the lead character is a hapless fool.

I much prefer the leading character to be tough and street smart like Ruby.

  3. Yes, this was the first time in years that we have watched the Oscars. Glad to know we haven’t been missing much in years past… and we rarely have seen the movies, so I never have any idea whom should win…
